Economics: SnowSheet 0.1.0 beta
All figures are assumptions for planning, not promises. Sources for price inputs are listed in RESEARCH.md (checked 2026-10-03).
Price inputs (published ranges)
- Residential per-visit: $30–$70; typical standard driveway $40–$70; steep/gravel driveways $50–$100+
- Seasonal residential contract: $200–$600 per winter
- Salt/de-icer add-on: $10–$100 per visit
Scenario model
The CSV holds three scenarios. Shared assumptions:
- Route: 12 residential stops, one storm day
- Visit mix per scenario: lean ($40 avg), base ($55 avg), strong ($70 avg)
- Salt: 2 bags at $8/bag per storm day
- Fuel: $35 per storm day; truck/plow wear and insurance: $25 per storm day
- Season: 14 billable storm days
| Lean | Base | Strong | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue / storm day | $480 | $660 | $840 |
| Day costs (salt+fuel+wear) | $76 | $76 | $76 |
| Season revenue (14 days) | $6,720 | $9,240 | $11,760 |
| Season costs | $1,064 | $1,064 | $1,064 |
| Season cash before labor | $5,656 | $8,176 | $10,696 |

What the model does not include
Truck purchase or financing, plow maintenance beyond wear allowance, slip- and-fall insurance (carry real coverage — this sheet is not insurance advice), taxes, or no-snow winters. A snowless season has zero route days.
Kill test
If three free storm days do not produce a reused sheet, the operating wedge — not the arithmetic — is wrong.
