Business plan: PoolSheet 0.1.0 beta
Customer
Solo US pool-service operators (1 route, 20–60 pools/week) who run the week on paper or memory. They buy their own chemicals and lose billable hours to mid-route stockouts and sloppy records.
Offer
A free beta weekly sheet: one form → printable weekly route card with per-stop chemical plans, service-log CSV, chemical-inventory CSV with OK/RESTOCK/SHORT flags, week invoice CSV. Browser-local, no account.
Why it wins for the operator
- Stockouts become visible on Sunday, not Thursday. The inventory CSV subtracts the week's planned chemical use from truck stock and flags what to buy before the week starts.
- Billing disputes get shorter. One invoice CSV per week with per-stop rates; the service log is the contemporaneous record.
- Zero friction. No signup, no $30–49/mo SaaS, no app install. The kit is a single HTML file plus CSVs.
Revenue model (hypothesis, unproven)
Free beta. The turnkey path, if ever pursued, would follow the same $1 gated standard as other kits only after the three-reviewer 9/10 gate. No paid promise exists in 0.1.0. $1 checkout stays off.
Costs
ECONOMICS.csv uses explicit hypothetical allowances: printing, a weekly 15-minute planning session, and chemical spend estimates the operator fills in. The kit itself has no paid dependencies.
First ten customers
See FIRST-TEN-CUSTOMERS.md: supply-house flyer, local Facebook groups, ride-along offers to two solo operators, pool-supply store counter cards.
Risks
- PoolOps free tier (5 customers) or a raise of its cap compresses the wedge.
- Demand is unproven. This plan is a hypothesis, not a forecast.
- Chemical plans are bookkeeping, not dosing guidance. Product labels and local health rules govern.
