Start here: PetBrief 0.1.0 beta
You have a working client-intake and meet-and-greet brief for independent pet sitters and dog walkers. This file is the 10-minute path to your first real result.
Step 1 — See it work (5 minutes)
- Double-click OPEN-ME-PetBrief.html. It opens in your browser. No internet
needed, nothing is uploaded anywhere.
- A fictional sample client ("sample booking") is already loaded.
- Click "Build sitter brief".
- Read the brief: readiness verdict, completion score, flagged issues, per-pet
feeding/behavior/medication/vaccination summary, vaccination follow-ups.
- Click "Print sitter brief" — this is what a sitter takes to a
meet-and-greet.
- Click "Download reminder CSV" — a CSV you can open in any
spreadsheet app.
- The sample booking has a visit window (arrival and departure dates) already
set. Click "Download visit card" for a printable day-by-day card, and "Download visit calendar" for a calendar file (.ics) with one event per visit day — feeding and medication notes included, door codes never.
Renders (built from the shipped OPEN-ME-PetBrief.html, sample booking loaded and brief built): desktop 1440px · mobile 390px.
Step 2 — Try it with your own data (10 minutes)
- Reload the page (the sample stays — see AI-OPERATOR.md to clear it).
- Fill the form as a real client would. Try leaving things blank on purpose:
blockers (red) stop the brief from being "ready"; follow-ups (amber) warn but don't block.
- Enter a vaccination expiry date in the past: watch it become a blocker.
- Type a door code into a notes field: watch the privacy flag fire. PetBrief
never stores access codes — this is enforced, not just advised.
Step 3 — Understand the business
- ECONOMICS.md — what it costs (about $0 fixed), what the labor is, and the
honest pricing hypothesis ($199 setup + $29/mo per sitter, unproven).
- FIRST-TEN-CUSTOMERS.md — where the first sitters come from and what to say.
- AI-OPERATOR.md — the operator's manual: field list, validation rules,
reminder workflow, and the tested automation paths.
- LAUNCH-CHECKLIST.md — run this before using PetBrief with a real client.
Step 4 — Prove it with three real sitters
Offer the intake to three independent sitters free, in exchange for a testimonial and one referral each. If none of the three would pay for it after a month, the pricing hypothesis is wrong — say so in CHANGELOG.md and adjust before building further.
