Pilot: LessonBrief 0.1.0 beta
Status: Beta · demand unproven. First name only. Not a report card. Nothing is uploaded.
Three free tutor pilots are the commercial test bed for the LessonBrief beta. Outreach for pilots follows FIRST-TEN-CUSTOMERS.md: individual, relevant, truthful, brand-only, non-spam, no bulk, clear opt-out. This file does not authorize bulk or misleading messages.
Terms (same for all three pilots)
- Free week of briefs. The operator helps the tutor build briefs for up to 10 sessions in one week (or the tutor self-serves with OPEN-ME).
- Operator does the first session walkthrough. Enter one sample and one real session together so the tutor sees the fields and the privacy floor.
- The tutor keeps everything. The three text files are theirs — free regardless of what happens next.
- Honest framing. The tutor hears "beta, demand unproven" before the first brief. First name only; not a report card; nothing is uploaded.
- The tutor's payment: honest feedback (what confused them, whether parents used the reply card) and one referral to another tutor each.
Record for every pilot
- which outreach channel brought them;
- briefs built (subject, date, whether homework/reply were used);
- operator time per brief and per week;
- whether the tutor built 2+ briefs without help (the demand signal);
- whether a parent reply card changed a next-session plan;
- the tutor's one-line verdict on the tool;
- referral given yes/no; converted to $49 setup yes/no and why.
Kill test
If all three pilots finish a week and none would pay $49 for setup, or no pilot built more than one brief unprompted, the commercial wedge is wrong: re-scope the offer (different segment, different output) before publishing anything beyond the free beta. Do not redefine "they liked it" as a pass.
What the pilots do NOT prove
Pilots prove nothing about revenue, conversion, retention, or whether the $15/month assist experiment survives. They prove only that three tutors let you build their briefs and told you the truth about it.
