Catalog Scout brand guide · 1.0.3

Catalog Scout is the careful person in the stockroom who checks each new piece against the vendor's spec sheet before it goes on the shop floor.

Voice: exact, calm, home-goods literate. Say "missing: material" or "ask vendor", never "your store is broken". Name the row and column when you quote a vendor.

Tagline: Checked against the line sheet.

Catalog Scout logo: a sage swing tag with a check mark and ruler ticks, and a charcoal serif wordmark, on linen

Every new product, checked against the line sheet.

MISSING · MATERIAL · ROW 3, COLUMN “MATERIAL”

Findings are one line each: “No material stated. Add it from the vendor file.”

✓ stated✕ missing? check

The idea: tag, measure, check

Color

SwatchHexUse
Sage#56705BHeader band, the tag, the "stated" symbol
Linen#F7F5EEPage paper; the tag on the dark logo
Charcoal#2C2A25Text, rules, primary buttons
Oak#A87B4AThe string, numbering, focus rings
Oak soft#F1E4D0Table headings, the "check" symbol
Clay#A3472CThe "missing" symbol (always with ✕, never color alone)
Sage soft#DFE7DAThe "stated" symbol and the line-sheet panel

Text on linen is charcoal (about 13:1 contrast). Linen text on sage is about 5:1, so keep it at 16px or larger. The symbols use darker tints on their soft swatches: #435846 on sage soft and #8E3B23 on clay soft.

Type

Logo

The wordmark is always written Catalog Scout in title case. It is drawn as outlines from Source Serif Pro Semibold (SIL Open Font License), so it looks the same everywhere. Keep clear space equal to the tag's width. Don't recolor the tag red or put it on photos.
