HOW A BATCH MOVES · WORKING PROTOTYPE 1.0.3

Partially automated today. A person signs off every time.

Intake, checking, drafting and the report run by themselves once a file lands in the inbox. Getting the file there from a real store, reviewing the drafts and sending the report are still done by a person.

#StepStatus
1Get the new batchThe merchant exports the new products (Shopify CSV) and the vendor line sheet into the client’s inbox/. Or pull-shopify.mjs pulls them with the merchant’s own app credentials.Manual export
API pull: local mock only
2Intakeintake.mjs checks the file is fresh, skips exact duplicates, and records “stale” if nothing new arrived in 8 days.Automated · tested
3CheckEach product is checked for missing size, material, care and assembly (by family), plus image, description, SKU and price problems.Automated · tested
4Draft from the line sheetMissing facts are copied word for word from the vendor file, with row and column. Nothing is invented.Automated · tested
5Compare with last timeFindings are matched by handle and SKU, so added or reordered rows don’t show up as changes.Automated · tested
6ReviewA person checks priority findings and every draft against the vendor file (about 15–25 minutes per 50-product batch, an estimate that hasn’t been measured).Person
7Send and publishThe person sends the HTML report and, if the client wants, pastes the verified drafts into the store.Person

One command, from a scheduler or by hand:

node source/intake.mjs clients/fern-fable --profile decor --client "Fern & Fable Home"

Exit code 0 means processed or nothing to do, 1 means a run failed, and 2 means stale. Every run leaves intake-state.json and reports/state.json, which say what happened and what to do next.

What is not automated

No real Shopify store has been connected yet. The pull works only with an app the merchant creates in their own organization. No messages are sent, no billing runs and no catalog is edited. An AI assistant can run steps 2–5 and prepare step 6, but it must not publish or send.
